What to Expect This role will report directly to the Head of Procurement, working closely with our expert internal teams across engineering, finance, and program, as well as key global external suppliers. You will be working on Vertical's second-generation hybrid-propulsion system, which is expected to commence flight testing in Q2 2026. You will need excellent communication, negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to flex between essential operational tasks to strategic problem-solving to be successful in this role. You will work with and analyse data and insights to identify where there are potential risks in our supply chain and take the lead in finding required solutions. Global travel to the US, Asia and Europe is also an important part of the role, although you will have complete autonomy over the frequency of travel. Strategic Buyer: Hybrid-Propulsion systems

At NewOrbit Space, our mission it to engineer the lowest orbiting satellites on Earth to rapidly advance global connectivity and insight. We are currently building satellites that can breathe air and operate at an altitude of just 200 km - one-third that of conventional satellites. Thanks to our proprietary propulsion system we can compensate for the atmospheric drag at ultra low altitudes using the air as propellant. Please note that as we prepare for our maiden satellite mission, we are in a critical growth phase. Our roles will often require extended hours and are not typical 9-to-6 positions. Your Role You will be responsible for calculating, designing, testing, and optimizing the electric plasma propulsion system within our vacuum facilities. Electric Propulsion Engineer

Your Role We are seeking a Electric Propulsion Systems Engineer to steer our demonstration mission architecture from phase A studies through on-orbit operations. You will own the end-to-end systems definition, translating customer and mission objectives into verifiable system requirements, and take ownership of the verification test campaigns. You should preferably bring experience of architecting successful propulsion systems, and be capable of applying it at a significantly higher pace than that of traditional aerospace projects. Systems Engineer | Propulsion

Propulsion Engineer - Graduate Programme 2025 Salary: £31,500 plus a £3000 joining bonus.
