Airbus offers you a work-study contract covering both your training at the Airbus Cybersecurity School (in partnership with Ynov Campus, Toulouse) and your apprenticeship at Airbus.

This opportunity is open only to students who have completed their Bachelor: Cybersecurity analyst in the aeronautical sector (Bac +3) with the Airbus Cybersecurity School and who wish to pursue their academic journey for an additional two years with the Master's degree programme (RNCP certification level 7).

Airbus Cybersecurity School

Airbus offers you the opportunity to follow a comprehensive and immersive cybersecurity in aeronautics work-study apprenticeship programme, which means alternating between being a student of the Airbus Cybersecurity School and being part of our operational teams (Digital & IM, Corporate Security, etc.).

Your apprenticeship

An apprenticeship offer entitled "Apprenticeship in Security Evaluations of future Machine Learning based avionics (M/F)" has just opened within Airbus Commercialon its Saint Martin, Toulouse site.

You will join the Airborne Product & Services Security Tests in charge of the security evaluation of Airbus end products such as avionics computers in commercial aircrafts, inside the Flight and Integration Test Centre of Airbus France in Toulouse. We proceed both by analysis and by pentests. Our department works in tandem with avionics System Designers as well as the department of aircraft Security Architects.

This apprenticeship will start in September 2025 and will last for 2 years.

This position requires security clearance or requires being eligible for clearance by recognised authorities.

Tasks and responsibilities

You will be under the responsibility of a manager who will help you to identify your professional objectives and support you in the development of your skills.

You will contribute to the following main activities:

  • Risk Analysis of ML-based computer vision, threat analysis
  • Identification of threat paths; inference attacks, supply-chain attacks (e.g. cloud infrastructure used during ML training), training attacks / data poisoning
  • Pentest of the training dataset itself (including acquisition of datasets from external providers), pentest of the training computing infrastructure (access control, data integrity), pentest of the embedded ML avionics computer (through its ML inputs or through its ML-acceleration hardware and software stacks, that are complex Commercial-off-the-Shelf components)
  • Standardization, notably ARP6983
  • Upskilling on classical security evaluation
Key deliverables

  • Mapping of attacks from new publications to Vision-based Landing and other upcoming ML-based avionics
  • Prototype implementation of at least 1 attack on Vision-based Landing:
    • either successful attack, and proposal for architectural remediation
    • or analysis of why ML design or functional verification were able to thwart the attack
  • Proposal to Airbus System Designers and Security Architects Security of a template of verification&validation objectives for embedded ML-based avionics
  • Vulnerability analysis of ML acceleration hardware and accompanying software frameworks
Skills & prerequisites

You have completed your Bachelor: Cybersecurity analyst in the aeronautical sector (Bac +3) with the Airbus Cybersecurity School.

You will develop the following skills:

  • Security of ML
  • Means of Compliance for avionics certification
  • Mindset both of Computer Scientist, and of embedded systems engineer
  • General cybersecurity (conferences, challenges, reverse engineering)
  • Embedded computing and classical avionics
  • Presentation skills
Language skills

  • English: advanced (as the classes are taught partly in English, candidates must have an advanced level of English)
  • French: fluent
