Doncaster Sheffield Airport is preparing to relaunch, in preparation for this we are seeking to appoint an ATS Safety and Compliance Manger to be part of new and exciting team who will be pivotal in helping the airport to open and grow.

You will be involved in helping to shape Doncaster Sheffield Airports development into a UK and international airport. The team will work with cutting-edge systems in a newly upgraded control tower and radar environment.

It is an opportunity to be part of developing a new team who are passionate about delivering safe, efficient and timely air travel to passengers from across the UK at the UKs newest airport.

As part of the leadership team for the you will take on a vital role in developing and maintaining the ANSP safety and compliance regulatory and business requirements.

About the Role

The Safety & Compliance Manager plays a pivotal role in leading and enhancing ANSP management systems including Safety, Compliance, Quality, Security and Change Management, to ensure that the organisations business and safety risk is limited to an acceptable level. You will have a direct line of access to the Accountable Manager and will be responsible for leading internal and external safety related audits. The Safety & Compliance Manager is accountable to the Head of Air Traffic Services (HATS) for updating and maintaining ANSP policies and manuals, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting positive cultures within the organisation including a Just Culture, open and honest reporting culture, and driving continuous improvement based on lessons identified.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Safety & Risk Management System lead the implementation and maintenance of Safety Management Systems, foster and organisational culture for effective safety management.
  • Quality Management System develop and manage robust auditing systems and processes to ensure compliance with standards and policies. To ensure ANSP compliance with all relevant ICAO and UK CAA Regulations including CAP 670, UK Regulation (EU) 2017/373 Air Traffic Management / Air Navigation Services, and UK Regulation (EU) 2015/340 ATCO Licencing.
  • ANSP Security Management Systems - lead the implementation and maintenance of Security Management Systems, foster and organisational culture for effective security management.
  • Change Management encourage continuous improvement and best practice, ensuring that change management procedures are complied with across the organisation.
  • ANSP Administration - ensure that the regulatory approvals are maintained and that the documentation requirements for the ANSP including compliance matrices, business plans and annual ANSP oversight audit responses are effectively managed and updated.
The successful Candidate:

The successful candidate will have experience in Air Traffic Services Safety and Compliance Management, a good understanding of UK CAA ATS regulations, compliance and implementation of the regulatory requirements in an operational environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential with ability to make decisions and multitask in a challenging and rewarding environment.

You will bring proven experience in leading and developing ANSP Safety Management, Quality Management, Security Management and Change Management systems and procedures. A commitment to continuous improvement is key, ensuring the ANSP remains compliant with UK CAA ATS regulatory requirements. You will also be expected to help guide and develop the unit as a vital member of the ANSP leadership team.

In addition, you must be able to complete all duties and responsibilities of the role detailed in the job role summary. You will need to pass aviation security clearance.
