Hours: 37 hours per week

Doncaster Sheffield Airport is preparing to relaunch, in preparation for this we are seeking to appoint key members of the security team who will be pivotal in helping the airport to open and grow.

You will be involved in helping to shape Doncaster Sheffield Airports development into a UK and international airport. It is an opportunity to be part of developing a new team who are passionate about delivering safe, secure and efficient travel to passengers from across the UK at the UKs newest airport.

About the Role

As part of Doncaster Sheffield Airports commitment to delivering a safe, secure, and customer-focused environment, we are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Airport Security Manager (ASM) to oversee and implement effective security operations.

This leadership role is responsible for the implementation and operational oversight of all airport security functions. The successful candidate will ensure full compliance with UK National Aviation Security programme (NASP), manage a diverse operational team of security personnel and contractors, and uphold the highest standards of safety and service across the airport estate.

The ASM will play a pivotal role in safeguarding passengers, staff, and assets, while supporting the Head of Security and airports wider operational and commercial objectives. This includes leading the development and implementation of robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), audit schedules and support the continued development of contingency plans that align with national standards and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Providing operational leadership across all areas of airport security, including terminal, airside, landside, and perimeter operations.

Implementation of a comprehensive security quality assurance framework that identifies operational risks, provision of robust corrective action plans and reports that ensures regulatory compliance and operational resilience.

Supporting the recruitment, training, certification, and performance management of the security team.

Managing relationships with external security service providers to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services.

Acting as the operational liaison with regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies, and other key stakeholders.

Implement initial incident response procedures and investigations that ensures timely resolution and continuous improvement.

Contributing to operational planning and infrastructure development to enhance security capabilities and support future growth.

The successful Candidate:

Were looking for a person with Significant experience in aviation or transport security leadership roles. In-depth knowledge of UK NASP, associated publications and industry best practices. Strong operational management skills and ability to mentor in a complex security operation.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. Experience in overseeing security contract implementation and working with regulatory bodies.

Relevant qualifications in aviation security management are essential and Department for Transport (DfT) Threat Assessor certified is desirable, with interpersonal skills with the ability to influence operational stakeholder management and build collaborative relationships. Demonstrates inclusive leadership and supports diversity and equality in the workplace.

Willingness to develop personal skills in airport development and design, security risk and threat management and incident response.
