Job Description:
The role is within the Flight Control Systems team, which is part of the Aircraft System Integration area within the Engineering Directorate. The aim of the role is to define Control Laws architecture and algorithm detailed design, validation and verification.
Areas of responsibility include:
• FCS system level and integration requirements specification
• FCS Control Laws architecture definition through the evaluation of different control strategies (e.g. Multivariable control)
• FCS Control Laws algorithm detailed design
• FCS Control Laws model-based shaping and closed-loop analysis (e.g. stability analysis, robustness analysis)
• FCS Control Laws validation and verification in a virtual design environment
• Carry out FCS flight test activities pertaining assessment of FCS control functions to support FCS development, including definition of flight test cards, real-time flight data monitoring in telemetry, support to briefing/debriefing with flight crew, flight data analysis and troubleshooting
• Control Laws technical reports and pertaining Certification artifacts production
Education:
• Master Degree qualified in a relevant engineering subject: Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation and Control, Aerospace Engineering
Required Technical Skills:
• Knowledge of Control Theory
• Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink environment
• Basic Knowledge of Model Based Design Methodology
• Basic Knowledge of Aircraft and Rotorcraft dynamics and systems
Desirable Technical Skills:
• Knowledge of Certification Specifications (e.g. CS-29, CS-27)
• Knowledge of Advanced Control Theory
• 1+ years experience in Systems Engineering and flight control system development
Soft skills
• Ability to communicate equally across multi-functional teams, and with colleagues at all levels
• Strong sense of responsibility, willing to cooperate with others, good at learning new skills, and strong self-management ability
• Motivated to take initiative and able to work independently
