Location: 60% on site at Gatwick and Heathrow. Travel to other sites and offices as required.

We're looking for an experienced IT Director - Aviation and Travel who will be responsible for the Aviation and Travel IT product portfolio including IT design and costing, architecture governance and product roadmaps, aligned with the organisation's business goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Strategic Leadership: Ensuring IT investments and capabilities are aligned to customer and operational requirements and growth. Identifying and leveraging supplier innovations.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to a direct report including mentoring and development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: for IT strategy and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities. Working with senior leadership to assess and recommend new IT products and services to meet customer and DHL goals and track and manage IT product spend.
  • Product governance: Establish and maintain architectural governance, product roadmaps, ensuring effective and sustainable interoperability and compliance.
  • Technology innovation: Developing prioritised, high value continuous improvement IT roadmaps with customers and senior leadership. Shaping demand, IT proposals, and developing business cases ensuring a full and effective handover to delivery teams. Also act as the Subject matter expert to the Supporting Delivery teams implementing the IT product.
  • Vendor Management: Pipeline of demand for CI proposals, CI response & commercials, ensuring IT product quality. Supporting in major supplier contract renewals.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • In-depth, proven experience in senior, business facing IT leadership roles.
  • Specific logistics experience within the Aviation & Travel industry is essential in the role.
  • Experience of delivering complex IT products into a multi-site, multi-customer, contract logistics landscape, ensuring high degrees of continuous improvement.
  • In-depth experience in complex product changes, IT architecture and applications management in a multi contract, highly demanding environment.
  • Managing IT architecture with a drive for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels including customers and vendors.
  • Strong understanding of IT product management and software development with excellent IT product governance experience is essential.
  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
