Job Description

Join ALTEN UK, a leading engineering consultancy, and contribute to high-impact aerospace programmes by driving excellence in Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation. This role offers the opportunity to shape product quality from initial concept through to full production, working with complex mechanical components and a cross-functional team to deliver right-first-time solutions. You'll engage with suppliers, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with AS9145 and related aerospace standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Author and maintain critical PPAP documents such as Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Inspection/Test Plans
  • Review and validate supplier PPAP submissions to ensure adherence to customer and industry standards
  • Lead or support end-to-end PPAP documentation and submission, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to embed quality throughout the product lifecycle
  • Support supplier readiness reviews and provide guidance to improve supplier quality capabilities
  • Drive continuous improvement by integrating feedback, lessons learned, and best practices into future APQP cycles

Qualifications

Skills & Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aeronautical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience working with PPAP and APQP methodologies within a regulated environment (ideally aerospace)
  • Solid knowledge of AS9145, with familiarity in AS9100, AS9102, and other aerospace quality standards
  • Proficiency in tools such as PFMEA, MSA, Capability Studies, and Control Plans
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and process control techniques
  • Experience in supplier development or direct supplier engagement is highly desirable
