We are a unique ministry that operates the world's largest fleet of small aircraft in over 30 countries worldwide, flying patients, relief workers, doctors, pastors, food, and life-saving supplies in the hardest to reach places on the planet.

Overview:

The Recruiting Manager, Aviation is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Recruiting. This position is a fully remote role requiring extensive travel within Canada.

As a senior member of the Recruiting Team, the successful candidate will bring expertise in aviation with a demonstrated heart for missions and mentoring.

As a Christian ministry, MAFC is seeking individuals who embody the values and beliefs of the organization as articulated in our mission, vision, and doctrinal statements.

Purpose: To lead in the recruitment of aviation professionals while developing pathways that align with MAFC's mission and missionary candidate profiles and providing expertise in aviation to other members of the recruiting team.

Role Description:

As part of the Recruiting team, you will provide strategic leadership in recruiting efforts targeting aviation professionals, build partnerships with aviation training institutions and industry organizations, and engage with missionary candidates to prepare them for successful service with MAFC.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Talent Development and Recruitment
    • Identify, mentor, and recruit pilots and AMEs who align with MAFC's mission and values to serve as missionaries with MAFC.
    • Mentor aviation recruits and guide them through the recruitment process toward readiness for missionary deployment.
    • Lead the recruiting team's involvement in continuous improvement efforts relating to recruiting processes for aviators.
    • Support and assess candidates through interviews, evaluations, and ongoing conversation.
    • Collaborate with internal and global teams to align recruitment strategies with global needs forecast across MAF.
  • Institutional Relationship Building
    • Build and maintain relationships with aviation training institutions across Canada, including flight schools and AME programs.
    • Represent MAFC at aviation events, conferences, career fairs, and training institutions.
    • Develop trust and credibility with institutional leaders, instructors, aviation groups, and students to expand MAFC's recruitment network.
  • Strategic Planning and Collaboration
    • Develop and execute strategic recruitment plans focused on aviation professionals.
    • Work closely with other Recruiting Team members to align priorities and strategically share resources, taking full advantage of the geographical and technical diversity of the team.
    • Collaborate with marketing and communication teams to shape messaging and campaigns targeting aviation recruits.
  • Travel and Representation
    • Travel extensively within Canada to build relationships and engage with current and future candidates, institutional partners, churches, alumni, and other stakeholders.
    • Represent MAFC's recruiting department at events, conferences, and churches, sharing the organization's mission and vision and inspiring future recruits.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Education and Experience:
    • Degree or Diploma in aviation, or a related technical field
    • Pilot's licence or AME certification or another strongly related aviation field qualification.
    • 5+ years of experience in aviation strongly preferred.
    • Proven understanding of mission work and a deep understanding of its unique demands.
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Understanding of the aviation industry and its technical requirements.
    • Exceptional interpersonal, mentoring, and communication skills
    • Strong organizational and planning abilities
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM databases.
  • Faith Alignment:
    • Demonstrated alignment with the mission, vision, values, and doctrinal statements of MAFC
    • Knowledge of scripture and ability to articulate Christian faith in professional and personal settings.
  • Other Qualifications:
    • Experience in talent development or training is an asset
    • Ability and willingness to travel extensively across Canada

Annual Salary:

Commensurate with experience, education, training, and participation in a comprehensive benefit program.

Work Location:

While applications will be accepted from candidates across Canada and the position is fully remote, the ideal candidate is based in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia or the Ottawa-Montreal corridor, with a willingness and ability to travel extensively within Canada.
