Role Title: Senior Air Traffic Controller
Based at: Doncaster Sheffield Airport
Salary details: 90,000 (inclusive of market supplement).
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 37 hours per week Working pattern to be confirmed.
Flexible working arrangements: Flexible working requests will be considered.
DBS clearance is required for appointment to this post.
Doncaster Sheffield Airport is preparing to relaunch, in preparation for this we are seeking to appoint Senior Air Traffic Controllers to be part of new and exciting team who will be pivotal in helping the airport to open and grow.
You will be involved in helping to shape Doncaster Sheffield Airports development into a UK and international airport. The team will work with cutting-edge systems in a newly upgraded control tower and radar environment.

About the Role
Take a leading role in establishing, delivering and sustaining the full training and competency for all Air Traffic Control Officers (ATCO) at the airport. This will include the airport greenfield opening and the future beyond live operations. The post holder will be responsible for the development, production and future maintenance of the Unit Training Plan (UTP), Unit Competency Scheme (UCS) and all associated training documentation, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and the standards laid out by the CAA. The post holder will also carry the roles and responsibilities as an operational ATCO.
Key responsibilities include:
You will have a passion for aviation and a desire to play a leading role in developing the Air Traffic Control team. Ability to adapt in high pressure situations making quick decisions to maintain safe working practices. Strong communication skills are essential and the ability to multitask in a challenging and rewarding environment.
You must have extensive knowledge of and have operated at a unit within controlled airspace for a minimum of 5 years with a minimum of 3 years as an active OJTI. Ratings in both ADI and APS is essential with minimum of 5 years as valid ATCO in both. Previous experience in greenfield would be advantageous.

- Develop, implement and review the units ATCO training plan, this will include the delivery of the unit training, mentoring, assessment along with the long-term management of the UTP. Ensuring the UTP meets the CAA requirements liaise with them on matters relating to ATCO training, validation boards, incident reviews and regulatory compliance. This will be supporting the Airspace Change development in accordance with CAP1616.
- Develop, implement and review of the units ATCO competency scheme including the delivery of the UCS, ensuring it meets the CAA requirements.
- Contribute to the development of procedures and protocols for the newly reopened airport.
