Role/Ruolo

Aeronautical Fluidic-Mechanics System Installation Designer reporting to System Installation Senior Design

Responsibilities / Responsabilità

Description of the Role:

Fluidic-Mechanics Design of Installation of Systems such as Fuel, Hydraulic Power, Environmental Control, Oxygen, Pneumatic, Ice protection components by means of CAD models and 2D drawings development.

Main Activities:
  • Analysis of requirements defined by Aircraft Specification, System Specification, Interface Control Documents
  • Space allocation of Equipment and main routings contributing to definition of the Aircraft Digital Mock-Up
  • Stressed Layouts for sizing of supports and tubes/pipes for Equipment and System components
  • Analysis of installability and maintainability of the designed installations
  • Definition of interfaces/frontiers with Partners
  • Release of drawings of details such as machined supports, sheet metal supports, pipes and tubes (composite and metallic parts)
  • Release of drawings of assemblies and installations
  • Release of drawings of piping routings
  • 3D models and 2D drawing revisions following modification raised during Aircraft assembly and testing
Main Outputs:

  • Catia v5 3D Models
  • Catia v5 2D drawings or Model Based Design
  • Part List defining materials, standard parts, processes, finishing, installation notes
Main Interfaces:

  • Aircraft System Designers for requirement inputs and System performance verification on designed layouts
  • Structure Designers for interfaces with Aircraft primary structure
  • Stress Analysts for sizing of Systems components and supports
  • Air Vehicle Technology for Weight & Balance definition and requirements, Aerodynamics verifications on external components
  • Operations for non-conformities raised during fabrication and assembly
  • Partner Designers for interface definition between Aircarft sections/barrels
Requirements

Education:

Bachelor Degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Aeronautical Engineering

Seniority: Junior, 0 -3 years of experience

Experience/Skills:
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering (drawings, processes)
  • Preferred experience in CAD modelling for Aerospace
  • Basic knowledge of functional schemes and data sheets
  • Knowledge of Office packages
  • Good Level of written and spoken English, B2
