The CH-47 Mechanic (A&amp;P or FCC) performs maintenance and inspects on CH-47 systems maintaining to FAA standards. Employee will receive Premium pay while conducting Flight Engineer duties. <ul> <li>Perform the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance with a primary expertise as a CH-47 mechanic, repair functions including assembly and modification on a variety of Army and other DoD cross-service aircraft, their major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and related systems.</li> <li>Install, connect, and adjust complete systems such as fuel, heat, lubrication, hydraulic, engine, and transmission: install and align fuselage parts; balance, align, and install tail rotor assemblies; rig complete flight control systems.</li> <li>Incorporate authorized modifications and changes.</li> <li>Make operational checks of hydraulic and fuel systems using external power sources and powered ground equipment.</li> <li>Inspect and troubleshoot to determine cause of malfunctions; disassemble to point of trouble; adjust, repair, realign or replace defective component or assembly.</li> <li>Must be able to properly use a variety of common hand tools and measuring devices such as gauges torque wrenches and scales and test, measurement and diagnostic equipment related to specific aircraft models.</li> </ul>Minimum Requirements: <ul> <li>High School Graduate or equivalent is required.</li> <li>Five (5) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience is required.</li> <li>FAA A&amp;P OR FCC Elements 1 and 3 Required.</li> <li>FAA (A&amp;P) required, with at least Two (2) years aviation maintenance experience, and Two (2) years on the assigned MDS (CH-47).</li> <li>All experience must be within the Five (5) most recent years.</li> <li>If No A&amp;P, Must possess an FCC License with (Elements 1 and 3) And Three (3) years Aviation maintenance experience, Three (3) years rotary wing aircraft experience and two (2) years on the assigned CH-47 Mission Design Series (MDS).</li> <li>(If willing and able to obtain an FCC License, discuss with Recruiter).</li> <li>Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance, NAC-I T1 Public Trust. US Citizenship is required to obtain a T1/CAC NACI Clearance.</li> <li>Interim NACI approval required for deployment.</li> <li>Valid US Passport with at least 6 month at the time of travel is required for deployment to Germany.</li> </ul>Flight Engineer specific: <ul> <li>Must have a valid/current FAA 2nd Class Medical Certificate w/ECG endorsement</li> <li>Possess FAA Flight Engineer Certification or military equivalent</li> <li>Specialized training courses in Flight Engineering is required</li> <li>Minimum of four years' work experience as a Flight Engineer</li> </ul>Germany Specific: <ul> <li>TESA Approval: (German Govt) Must be able to qualify for TESA approval; with 5 years career total Aviation maintenance experience.</li> <li>Travel: As required in support of task order.</li> </ul>Knowledge &amp; Skills <ul> <li>Possess good communication skills; be adaptable, diversified and capable of troubleshooting entire aircraft system.</li> <li>Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical and associated systems principles to complete properly all probable work tasks.</li> <li>Knowledge of Quality Control, Production and Supply procedures required to perform job assignment.</li> <li>Able to determine when faulty systems or assemblies can be corrected through repair of replacement of new parts and the nature and extent of repair required.</li> <li>Must have skill in reading, applying and interpreting technical data.</li> </ul>Flight Engineer specific: <ul> <li>Demonstrated proven and verifiable aviation experience including ethics, ability and professionalism of the highest standards are required for this position.</li> <li>Working knowledge for operating navigational and communication equipment installed on the aircraft.</li> <li>Capable of computing and annotating weight and balance logs for the aircraft.</li> <li>Must be able to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.</li> </ul>Physical Requirements/Working Environment <ul> <li>Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.</li> <li>Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.</li> <li>Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.</li> <li>Must be immediately deployable to potential combat areas worldwide.</li> </ul>Amentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
