The Vacancy The Role of a Pilot - Avenger (King Air B350ER, single pilot, based Culdrose) Join Ascent, a leader in military flying training, and help shape the next generation of rear crew professionals. As an Avenger Pilot, you'll do more than fly, you'll mentor, collaborate, and make a real impact in a dynamic, safety first environment. You'll play a vital role in delivering airborne sorties as part of the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS), working closely with instructors and engineers to deliver world class training that prepares crews for the future of defence aviation. What you will be doing. <ul> <li>Fly airborne sorties to support rear crew instruction as part of the UKMFTS programme.</li> <li>Ensure aircraft operations meet the highest safety and regulatory standards.</li> <li>Collaborate with instructors and engineers to deliver seamless, high-quality training experiences.</li> <li>Act as a role model for flight safety, professionalism, and Ascent's core values.</li> <li>Maintain readiness for scheduled and unscheduled flights, adapting to evolving training needs.</li></ul>What will make you successful in Pilot - Avenge Essential: <ul> <li>Commercial Pilot's Licence (min. 500 hours as 1st pilot) or Qualified Military Mult-Engine Pilot.</li> <li>Proven medical fitness and commitment to maintaining flying currency.</li> <li>Strong safety mindset and integrity in reporting and decision making.</li> <li>Excellent communication and teamwork skills across diverse teams.</li> <li>Confidence using digital tools and systems.</li></ul>Desirable: <ul> <li>Green Instrument Rating and Single Pilot operational fitness.</li> <li>Familiarity with UKMFTS structure and rear crew training syllabi.</li> <li>Understanding of military ethos and training standards.</li> <li>Experience contributing to operational efficiency and continuous improvement.</li></ul>Candidates who do not meet the essential requirements are encouraged to apply if they are on a pathway to achieve the requirements in the future. Working Arrangements This role is full time, 40 hours per week and provides a stable Monday to Friday work schedule with no weekend flying.
