The CH-47 Aircraft Avionics/Electrical Mechanic AM-2 (FAA A&P Or FCC) MWO performs repairs and troubleshoots aircraft systems and malfunctions of avionics, navigation, electrical, and communications systems.
- A Valid (FAA) A&P Certificate OR FCC License with Elements 1 and 3 is Required.
- With a Valid (FAA) A&P Certificate; Two (2) years' aviation maintenance experience, With Two (2) years of hands-on Avionics Mechanic experience on the assigned MDS (Mission Design Series (CH47) is Required.
- US Citizenship is Required for travel to Germany, with a Valid US Passport to obtain the required US Govt Security Clearance.
- Install, remove, inspect, test, adjust, or repair avionics equipment, such as radar, radio, and navigation systems in aircraft.
- Installs and repairs electrical wiring and/or cable on aircraft in adherence to established specifications.
- Cuts and strips wire, insulates connections.
- Assemble components such as switches, electrical controls, and junction boxes, using hand tools and soldering irons.
- Safely prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services.
- Perform scheduled inspections and assist in performing special inspections.
- Perform limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses and troubleshoots aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required.
- Use and perform operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.
- High School Graduate or equivalent is required.
- Shall have Five (5) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience.
- FAA A&P or FCC Elements 1 and 3 Required.
- Must possess (FAA) A&P Certificate with at least One (1) year of experience inspecting assigned Mission Design Series (MDS CH-47) aircraft.
- If No A&P (FCC Elements 1 and 3 required); with the FCC License candidate have a minimum Five (5) years of experience as an Aircraft Inspector on the Mission Design Series (MDS CH-47) airframe they will be inspecting.

- All experience must be within the Five (5) most recent years.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization**NAC-I T1 Public Trust. Note: US Citizenship is required for a facility credentials/authorization at the work location.
- Interim NACI approval required for deployment.
- Valid US Passport required for deployment to Germany and Greece.
- TESA Approval: (German Govt) Must be able to qualify for TESA approval; with 5 years career total Aviation maintenance experience.
- Travel: As required in support of task order.
- Possess good communication skills; be adaptable, diversified and capable of troubleshooting entire aircraft system.
- Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and associated systems principles to complete properly all probable work tasks.
- Knowledge of Quality Control, Production and Supply procedures required to perform job assignment.
- Able to determine when faulty systems or assemblies can be corrected through repair of replacement of new parts and the nature and extent of repair required.
- Must have skill in reading, applying, and interpreting technical data.
- Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.
- Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
- Must be immediately deployable to potential combat areas worldwide.
