Job description

Join Safran Tech's "Energy and Propulsion" department and participate in innovative projects by identifying and studying next-generation propulsion systems and unconventional aircraft energy architectures.

Mission :
• Identify and study propulsion systems within the aircraft energetics environment.
• Apply your thermodynamics expertise of turbomachinery to conduct engine cycle studies and preliminary sizing.
• Develop physical models of innovative modules (compressors, combustion chambers, turbines, etc.) in the preliminary engine design tool (PROOSIS), and calibrate these models using experimental data.
• Provide performance data for the energy representation implemented by the Aircraft Architectures department.
• Contribute to promoting studies and increasing the visibility of Safran Tech by participating in conferences and publishing your work in scientific journals.
• Participate in defining and monitoring research projects, as well as supervising theses.

• Close cooperation with other teams within the department.
• Work with various Safran Group companies (equipment manufacturers and engine manufacturers), particularly with experts in engine system architecture and modeling.
• Collaborate with laboratories, research partners, and industrial entities. Travel in France and abroad is expected.
Candidate skills & requirements

• Engineering degree (Master's level)
• Fluent in English
• Strong knowledge of aircraft propulsion systems architecture, thermodynamics, and engine cycles.
• Knowledge in thermal, thermomechanical, aerothermal, engine transitory, automation and regulation, PROOSIS, Python, Git, Gitlab.
• Excellent ability to synthesize and report on complex subjects.
• Creative mindset, passion for innovation.
• Work experience in R&D.
