Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a senior level Systems Engineer at the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) near Greenbelt, MD to support IT and Systems Administration requirements of the Laser Communication Relay Development (LCRD) project. The selected candidate will be responsible for general ground system and operations engineering support for LCRD experiment operations. Peraton is the prime contractor for NASA SENSE contract managed at the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). This contract supports operations at the White Sands Complex (WSC) near Las Cruces, New Mexico. WSC operated satellite ground terminals that ensure uninterrupted communications between various ground stations, NASA's orbiting fleet of Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS), customer spacecraft (satellites), and the computer systems that support such spacecraft. In this role, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the accurate and reliable control of our spacecraft's orientation and trajectory, supporting the success of our pioneering air-breathing electric propulsion system. Who We Are NewOrbit is developing the first air-breathing electric propulsion (ABEP) system to be trialed in Ultra-Low Earth Orbit (ULEO).
